“With two toddlers, and limited space we wanted to finish our basement. Brian and his team had refinished a friend of ours kitchen and we were very impressed with the detail and craftsmanship. The kitchen was an amazing transformation and was exactly what our friends had envisioned. As our friend said, “Brian doesn’t let anything slip through the cracks.”, and he didn’t. He ensured every detail met their expectation and then some. We still sought out numerous bids on the basement from various contractors. Brian’s was far and away the most thorough. He set a reasonable time frame, and price point for the complete job. He met those dates and figures, even offering to leverage excess material to complete other small jobs we had around the house for labor only. As is often the case, there were some design changes during the course of work submitted by us, and he was eager to help make those a reality, and giving us solid estimates on our proposed changes. He helped us make several decisions that made us fall in the love with the space even more – we added a storage closet and changed paint colors mid project and Brian was extremely understanding and flexible. You created a space that our children will have such great memories of one day and that is invaluable to us!
We have two happy toddlers now running wild in our finished basement and they couldn’t be happier. Thus, we are happy knowing it was done right, with quality first. Well this was FAR more than just a garage. I asked Brian to also install a 7Kw Natural Gas generator, with automatic transfer switch. This was NO easy tasking. After a few hiccups, everything was installed properly and now I’ll be the ONLY one on the block when our power goes off! Brian’s crew did an OUTSTANDING job on the new concrete he poured, and my garage turned out great. I asked him to finish the inside as well (for an extra sum) and now I have a finished garage which will be the envy of the neighborhood (not many garages in my older part of town). Brian was attentive to my needs, and he involved me in every step of the way. He allowed me to choose what I want, and didn’t try to steer me in any particular direction. Unfortunately, I am severely “design challenged” (i.e. unable to choose a color scheme, materials, etc). I knew that I required the services of an individual that could “read my mind” and envision a new “face lift” for my outdated home. My realtor referred me to Brian Novak of The Novak Group for the major renovation of my property. I emphasized that I wanted a General Contractor that could manage the entire project with minimal input from the homeowner. In addition, I needed to keep the total cost at a reasonable amount. Brian Novak exceeded my expectations regarding all of those criteria.
During the initial consultation, Brian listened very closely to my comments regarding the likes/dislikes that I had regarding my home. This was my first renovation project and I had a multitude of questions. Brian promptly responded to all inquiries either by email or phone within 24 hours. In addition, I received frequent updates regarding the progress of the project on a weekly basis. I was very pleased that the work site was always clean and organized. We had purchased a newly remodeled home near the Stonehaven area at the beginning of the year.
